Beautiful but speed is lacking

I installed this on a covered back patio in Dallas. It is hot here. After emailing with Customer Service I learned that there are 2 types of fans - those that are powered by AC motors - and those powered by DC motors. The Indy has an AC motor. The highest speed is only 83 rotations a minute. You can literally watch the blades and count the rotations on the highest speed - which is impossible to do on most typical fans. There is no blur when on high. Inside I'm sure it is nice if it is moving around already cooled air. However outside you can hardly even notice it is on... which completely defeats the point of an exterior fan (or interior for that matter). My 9yr old daughter stood directly underneath it yesterday when it was on high and said I don't feel anything. Exactly. The bottom line - it is very pretty - but get a faster fan.
