Copper wiring and white cord visible

Fixture is designed for sloping ceiling and the pole just below the canopy has an opening / hole that shows the copper wiring and white cord inside. They're unmissable if you look at the top of the fixture. No way to conceal them. Hinkley told me the only solution was to color them in with black marker! This is a high quality fixture and I did not expect a visible flaw like this.
