I just installed this lantern light last week so I can't say much for it's longevity. It does seem like it is incredibly over priced for what you get especially since you have to put it together. It was packaged very well though. I purchased one of these non-led 120v lanterns along with 2 - 20 wall mount lanterns. I decided to buy marine grade for the sole reason that I don't want to be searching for lights again for the lifetime I have left in my current house and was fearful of cheaper lights rusting out. Some people may call this marine grade material cheap expecting metal but it is a special composite that is also very lightweight and possibly expensive to manufacture I don't know but that's the only reason that I can think of that causes them to be so expensive. On to the light. You have to assemble the glass panels into the inside cage. Easy enough to do however the problem I have is once assembled the clips that hold them in are not very strong. For the post lantern it is necessary to hold the inner cage with the glass clips on the bottom and insert that into the top part of the outer cage you need to do this whenever you change a bulb as well. Twice while installing the inner cage a metal clip slipped out just from the simple weight of the small glass panel being suspended in air for the few seconds it takes to slip it into the top of the outer cage and down to where it sits housed. Luckily I was standing on a ladder to do this and happened to have my free hand in just the right spot to grab the glass before it shattered. It is a horrible design flaw and I am now in great fear of breaking a glass panel during a future bulb change. This is a very expensive lantern for what you get and breaking a glass panel will render it useless. I am going to try to see if I can somehow hold the glass in tighter but for now it's installed as intended.Another issue is trying to find a bulb for it that looks good. I did manage to find some after a lengthy search. Who knew it would be so difficult to find the right size color and wattage bulb. They aren't very inexpensive either. I found a place that sold open box bulbs so they were cheaper. You can find tube edison bulbs on Am**** but not sure of the quality and reviews were iffy. The bulbs also need to be UL wet rated for this open air light fixture. I purchased T9 (tube style) LED 3w (60w incandescent equiv) clear glass 3000kelvin light edison bulbs that are 7.5 tall. They are perfect for the warm lighting I was trying to achieve. One thing to note that with the long tube bulbs once installed they need to be perfectly level with the fixture or it is extremely noticeable. I had to fiddle around with my bulb base to get the bulb to align so it looked straight. I installed these on a granite lamp post make sure the post is level in both directions before you drill holes into the pier post base. My post was only level in one direction but slightly off in the other direction and I had to adjust for this during install. With all the straight edges everything needs to line up *perfectly* or it will look crooked. My nephew is an electrician and he recommended Hinkley brand which is why I ultimately purchased these. I hope that they live up to their brand name. I'm not sure I would purchase this again due to the issue with the glass panels.

So far so good and I hope they hold up against the heat humidity and salt air of Florida by the beach. A lovely addition to my landscaping.
